YOUTH CAPITAL FUND AWARD £22K FUNDS NEW ACCESSIBILITY FEATURES AND GAS CENTRAL HEATING AT THE CHALET

In July 2007 several youngsters from the Youth Band put together an application for funding to install gas central heating, new toilets including an accessible toilet) and a new access ramp.  They had to present the need for these facilities to a committee of young people who then decided whether or not to award the money.  Initially an award of £10k was made for the GCH, with a further £12k awarded some months later to install the new accessibility features.

As part of the evaluation procedure required by the award the youngsters made a film to highlight the difference the works had made to them.
